The 2019 Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) Awards for Excellence provide a platform to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations within the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisation Sector.

History
First held in 2017, the Awards attract almost 200 people from across the sector – from QAIHC Member Services and Affiliates, the Queensland Government, PHNs, and not-for-profit organisations, and has become a premier event on the Community Controlled Health Sector calendar.

In the history of the Awards, the outstanding achievements of a variety of organisations across the Sector have been acknowledged. To win an Award, organisations are assessed across a number of criteria that emphasise commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Queensland.
